News

September 12th, 2009:
A lot of things to say. The gist of things are:
(a) I’m starting a blog that will definitely be updated frequently (more about that in the blog itself)
(b) I’m removing the forum system. It seems that it’s never been really adopted by the visitors of the website but rather by spammer. So although I’ve had a lot of fun, for a while, changing the spammers’ messages to benign, and even amusing, text, lately they are faster than I, particularly those that spam in Russian. If there is great demand, I’ll return it – though I don’t see it happening.

July 14th, 2009:
After a long time (many apologies), I added a review of the movie ‘Knowing’.

June 9th, 2009:
Smashwords is sponsoring a free writing contest in conjunction with Editor Unleashed. The deadline for posting your entry is June 14. Simply write 1,000 words or less, post it to the Editor Unleashed forum, and win $500 if you’re the Grand Prize Winner. 39 “Editor’s Choice” winners will each receive $25. Winners will be selected based on a combination of reader votes (starting June 15, you can promote your entries on your blog, social networks and websites) and an independent panel of judges (Maria Schneider + professional literary agents and editors). At last check, there were about 150 entries, so the odds of landing in the top 40 to win a cash prize are reasonably good if you’re an excellent writer. All 40 winners will be published in a Smashwords eBook anthology that will be available for free download to anyone. For complete instructions, visit http://editorunleashed.com/2009/05/18/flash-fiction-40-contest-launch-today/

May 5th, 2009:
Sorry for being silent for a while and not providing any new reviews. Unfortunately, my day time job contract has not been extended last month, and I have been scrambling to find a solution. Although this may sound like I now have plenty of time, I’m probably the busiest unemployed person in the US 🙂 This site I created for fun (and not for profit), so unfortunately it can’t really help me get any income. However, I am trying to find creative ways where it could at least be used for some supplementary income. Anyway, apologies for being absent – hopefully life will go back to normal soon.

March 27th, 2009:
Added a forum system. Finally! It’s accessible through: Ultimate Time Travel Forums (or the menu above).

March 24th, 2009:

  • Reviewed the TV show: ‘Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles’.
  • Sorry for being absent. Things are beyond crazy at work (I wish I could elaborate more), and I barely have time to do anything, let alone work on a hobby site. I expect to have more time soon, so should be able to write more reviews.

March 19th, 2009:

  • Reviewed the novel ‘Spin’ by Robert Charles Wilson
  • I’ve decided to suspend the ‘Games’ section (for now). It’s going to be a long time before I have time to actually review games, never mind the fact most of them are very old (90s), so I don’t think there’s a point in including them for now.

March 17th, 2009:

  • Reviewed the movie “The Butterfly Effect”.
  • I’ve added a few stores in the ‘Shop’ section. These stores have items that I think may appeal to people visiting this website. In particular there is one I’m looking to add, but unfortunately haven’t yet received approval. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not as if I’m trying to make money of this website, but it’ll be nice if it is able to maintain its own costs.

March 16th, 2009:
Reviewed the TV show “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century”.

March 12th, 2009:
Added a poll mechanism which is in the upper right corner of every screen. I probably should put it in a separate page.

March 11th, 2009:

  • Reviewed the movie “Donnie Darko”.
  • Reviewed the novel “Einstein’s Bridge, by John Cramer”.

By the way, am I the only one who is getting those Google Ads that offer teaching telepathy on this (my) website? I wonder why – I can’t think of any book or movie I reviewed that has telepathy AND time travel. (Update: found a way to block these. Heh heh).

March 10th, 2009:
I have been unbelievably overwhelmed with work and other things that require taking care of, so as a result haven’t been able to write any reviews since Sunday. On Thursday evening things will become a bit calmer and then I’ll review a few movies (and maybe a book, for a change).

March 8th, 2009:
Reviewed the movie “Idiocracy”.

March 7th, 2009:
Reviewed the TV show “The Time Tunnel”.

March 6th, 2009:
Reviewed the movie “12:01”.

March 5th, 2009:

  • Reviewed the movie “A Sound of Thunder”.
  • Added a ‘Contact’ page.

March 4th, 2009:

  • Turns out I had a bug in my ranking system. This preventing all reviews from displaying their star rankings, and resulted from the transfer of the local version of the website I had on my machine to the hosting company. It’s now resolved.
  • Added the ‘share’ button so posts could be shared amongst the various social websites.

March 3rd, 2009:
Added two movie reviews: “Voyagers! (TV)” and “Timecrimes”.
